End-user licence terms

These terms govern the use of the SignalScope application. The product owner is Materis. By installing or using the application you accept these terms.
What this document covers and what it doesn't. The purchase (price, payment methods, key delivery, term, renewal, plan changes, refunds and receipts) is not governed by this text but by the Materis terms and conditions, the same for all its products and published at https://materis.io/en/terminos. What belongs to SignalScope is what you are reading (what the license lets you do and what the application does on your computer) together with its Privacy Policy. Both complement the Materis terms and do not replace them.
1. License
Materis grants you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable license to install and use SignalScope in accordance with these terms and with the license acquired (Full version or trial version).
2. Activation
Full use requires a valid, activated license. The 30-day trial version is local and requires no registration. Each Full license authorizes the number of activations stated at the time of purchase.
The license is acquired from Materis (https://materis.io/en), which licenses and invoices it. How many computers your license covers, how long it lasts, how it renews and how it is extended are set by its purchase terms and by what appears on your receipt.
3. Permitted use
SignalScope is a read-only tool for monitoring and diagnosing network equipment that you own or administer. It does not change the devices' configuration.
To diagnose, the application performs active measurements inside your network: ping discovery, query sessions with the radios, automatic search for devices that change IP address, continuous ping, traceroute, optional SNMP queries, the heartbeat of the devices and References you mark for watching (including destinations outside your network, such as a public IP or a domain) and a speed test server that opens a listening port on your computer while you keep it on. These features generate traffic towards the devices and destinations you specify, so you must only use them on your own networks or on networks you are expressly authorized to use. You are responsible for having that authorization.
4. Restrictions
You may not resell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the application; you may not reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it except to the extent permitted by law; you may not use the application to access devices without authorization, or to scan, measure or probe third-party networks without their consent.
5. Ownership
SignalScope and its intellectual property rights belong to Materis. Ubiquiti and airMAX are trademarks of their respective owners, as are MikroTik and RouterOS; SignalScope is not affiliated with or endorsed by Ubiquiti Inc. or Mikrotīkls SIA.
6. Third-party services
The Coverage map is drawn on mapping images provided by third parties: OpenFreeMap (with OpenStreetMap data, © OpenStreetMap contributors, under ODbL, and OpenMapTiles styles) and the open elevation model Terrain Tiles (AWS Open Data) when terrain relief is turned on. Their attribution is always shown on the map. Those images are downloaded directly from their providers and their use is subject to each provider's terms. Materis does not control those services and does not guarantee their availability, accuracy or continuity; the rest of the application works without them.
The Satellite view is an optional feature, off by default, that uses the
Google Maps Platform Map Tiles API. The Software does not include or
provide any Google key: to turn it on you must create an API key in your
own Google Cloud account and register it under Preferences → Map.
Accordingly, the contractual relationship for that service is between you and
Google: its use is subject to the Google Maps Platform Terms of
Service, and any usage, quota
or charge billed by Google is at your expense. Materis is not involved in that
contract, receives no part of that amount and is not liable for Google's
charges, suspensions or price changes. The attribution Google requires is
always shown on the map while the view is active.
Messaging alerts (WhatsApp or Telegram) are an optional feature, off by default, that relies on CallMeBot, a free third-party service for personal use. When you turn it on, the alert text (which includes the name and IP of the affected devices) is sent to CallMeBot's servers, which deliver it to the recipient you set up; the details are in the Privacy Policy.
That delivery is subject to CallMeBot's terms of service, which you accept when you turn on the feature and which are worth reading: CallMeBot does not guarantee the availability of the service or of the data, disclaims all liability for loss of content, may access the content you send it as needed to provide the service, and makes you responsible for all activity through your account. Materis does not control that service and does not guarantee the delivery, timeliness or confidentiality of those messages: you must not use them as the only alerting mechanism for a critical service.
You are responsible for choosing a suitable recipient (if you choose a group,
all its members will read the alert) and for safeguarding the activation
details (number, user and key). SignalScope stores them only on your
computer: they are not part of the project, they don't travel in a .sscope
or in a snapshot, and they never reach Materis servers.
In addition, the sentinel and its alerts only work while the application is running (with the window open or minimized to the system tray): if you close it completely or the computer it runs on shuts down, it stops watching. SignalScope is not a permanent monitoring service.
The coverage plan is a design aid, not a propagation prediction: it does not take terrain, obstacles or the Fresnel zone into account, and it must not be used as the only basis for installation decisions.
7. Privacy
What the application handles on your computer is governed by SignalScope's Privacy Policy. The data of your commercial relationship (purchase, invoicing and support) is handled by Materis as controller, under its policy published at https://materis.io/en/privacidad. Each product states separately what it does with your data, because not all of them do the same.
8. No warranty
The application is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, Materis will not be liable for damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the application.
9. Termination
This license ends if you breach these terms; when it ends you must stop using and uninstall the application.
